How the first "Cutting Edge"
'Bad Behaviour' Family
are Doing Now
Thursday, December 11, 2003
Dear Warwick,
On behalf of Diane and I, we would like to say a big thank you
for all your guidance and support in helping us to change our
daughter, Georgina's, behaviour. As you know, Georgina was
extremely badly behaved and so defiant and rude. You are also
aware that we were absolutely desperate. Our local Social
Services did nothing to help us and our respective families
either lived too far away or refused to help us. We were on our
own. We are so glad that we took the initiative to seek one last
effort to try to change Georgina's behaviour.
It's been a year since you first came to our home to discuss your
strategies for changing Georgina's behaviour. We were shocked to
learn that the cause of our daughter's bad behaviour was the way
in which we were handling her and that there was nothing wrong
with our daughter. It was our behaviour that had to change and
there were to be major changes to the way that we interact with
her. We started to put in place the strategies that you
prescribed and found that Georgina's behaviour began to change
within a week or so. We were beginning to see a glimmer of light
at the end of a very long dark tunnel. Our daily phone calls to
you kept us on track even though some of these calls lasted
several hours at a time. You never gave up on us. We held on to
the promise that you had never had a failure and that if we were
to be the first, then it would be down to our failure to use your
strategies correctly. Yes, we were complacent at times thinking
that we had "cracked it" only to find that there were signs that
the bad behaviour would return, so we had to be on the ball 100%
of the time.
A year down the road, we have a functional family now. We are
enjoying our daughter now rather than wishing that she wasn't
with us. We also know that others are looking to see if we have
slipped back to the old ways and whether Georgina has improved.
Her schoolteacher can't believe the radical change in her
behaviour. She is more confident in herself. She has a higher
self-esteem and her social skills are improving.
It was Georgina's 9th birthday last week and we were pleased that
of all the classmates that she invited to her party, every child
came along whereas last year, she had nearly 100% rejection.
Georgina is a popular child and has many friends. We never
thought that we would ever experience such a turnaround in our
daughter's behaviour and it has all been thanks to you.
We were pleased to have been involved with the Channel 4
programme. If it gives others help who share our plight, then it
will have been worthwhile doing it.
Congratulations and may other prospective clients take heart from
our success.
We are happy if you wish to use our letter on your web site and
to post our email address should any of your clients wish to talk
to us about our experience.
