'The Most Wonderful Christmas'
Hi Warwick,
Diane and I just wanted to share with you that we have just
enjoyed the most wonderful Christmas ever with our daughter
Georgina. The day started yesterday with all her excitement at
the prospect of having some presents on the foot of her bed to
open on Christmas morning. We had a lovely bedtime with her and
she was asleep in no time.
The morning started at 8am (when in previous years it would be
5am). She came into us to announce that father Christmas had made
a visit during the night, although secretly she claimed that she
saw daddy creep in to leave the presents. I'm sure that she plays
along with the Father Christmas legend because she realises that
there could be more presents in it for her. But she's only a kid
once so why not!!
Georgina allowed us to get bathed and dressed knowing that it was
going to take a bit longer before she was able to open her main
presents under the Christmas tree downstairs. She was so patient
bless her.
The moment arrived and she enjoyed opening her presents. She got
a scooter as her main present that she had especially asked for.
She was delighted and couldn't wait to get dressed herself to go
out and ride it.
After lunch we went to the local park so that she could get some
fresh air and ride her new scooter. She loved it. We didn't have
to take any pennies away from her all day.
We think that it was the best Christmas that she had ever had in
her short nine years. We are not complacent and know that she
will still test our boundaries and our patience at times but we
feel that those times will get less and less as you
predicted.
We hope that the rest of the holiday is as good as today. We just
wanted to say another very big thank you for helping us to
realise that we can enjoy the simple innocence of our daughter
and we feel that we have now connected emotionally with her and
we have finally got our daughter back - THANK YOU WARWICK
Here's hoping that you and your family had a really peaceful and
happy Christmas and all the best in 2004.
Take care
Fred & Diane.
